Iris Graveheart was but a child when her village was wiped out from a monster attack, too young to remember how it happened or how her parents died protecting her. She was found underneath a pile of rubble from a hunter that she affectionately refers to as "Gramps." To her knowledge, she was one of the only few survivors of the monster attack, losing everything she had before she could get to know it all.From that moment, Gramps took her in, raising her and training her to become a monster hunter and live up to his legacy. Everything she knows about hunting, she learned from him. She looks back to these times fondly, even if the training was harsh and brutal.Once Gramps passed away, he left behind both his hunting knife, which was a symbol of his title as a hunter, and a legacy Iris feels she has to live up to. With that in mind, she never looked back once she departed from the small seaside hut she grew up in.

Iris Graveheart is not a native from Eorzea...Or really a native from anywhere on this star. She hails from another world where society struggles to try and co-exist with monsters. She is a Monster Hunter that spends her times studying monsters in order to know more about that and hunting ones that prove troublesome for the ecosystem.One day, a moogle appeared in her world with a shard of what she came to know as aetheryte. With the moogle, came a fearsome monster known as a behemoth. After an incredible amount of planning, grit, and luck, the hunters in her world had taken down the beast, wishing the moogle well in the return journney. In her heart, Iris wondered what other worlds was like...And with that wish, she found herself transported along with them to Etheirys. After years of living on the star, she has decided to make it her new home, determined to protect the new friends and family she has found.
